22 Trash ๐๏ธ
Don't beat yourself up over an accidental delete! ObsiKO doesn't wipe out deleted files right away โ it quietly keeps them in the Trash. You can bring them back anytime!
โ Home: ObsiKO 101
Where do I open it? ๐ญ
- Pick Trash from the right sidebar panel. โ A Tour of the Screen
How does it work? โป๏ธ
- When you delete a file, it doesn't vanish forever โ it's gently moved to a trash folder (
.trash) inside your vault. - The trash folder and everything in it are hidden from the file tree, search, and Graph View, so it stays out of your way during normal work.
What can you do? ๐ ๏ธ
- Restore: bring a deleted file back to exactly where it was (it remembers which folder it came from!).
- Delete permanently: for anything you truly don't need anymore, wipe it completely, one item at a time.
- Empty: clear out the whole Trash at once to free up space!
- Each item shows the time it was deleted and its original folder, so there's no confusion.
โณ Emptying old items automatically
If a growing Trash bothers you, you can let ObsiKO clear out just the old items on its own.
- Go to Settings โธ Convenience โธ Auto-empty trash and pick Off / Items older than 7 days / 30 days / 90 days.
- The default is 'Off' โ so nothing in your Trash disappears on its own unless you turn this on. Rest easy! ๐
- Once it's on, items past that age are permanently deleted when you open a folder (vault). Anything cleared this way can't be restored, so we'd suggest picking a generous window.
โ ๏ธ One thing to remember
- If you delete a file that's already in the Trash, that's a permanent delete (it can't be undone). Handle with care!
