Your day and your vault, on one screen! From today widgets — date, weather, calendar, weekly schedule — to analytics cards like note counts, writing habits, and task completion, it's your own dashboard where you arrange the cards however you like.

Where do I open it? 🔭

• Press the Dashboard button at the very top of the sidebar (the four-squares icon, ⌘⇧B) and it unfolds full-screen, just like Graph View. → A Tour of the Screen
• A time-of-day greeting (Good morning ☀️ / Good evening 🌙) welcomes you when it opens.
• At first you'll see just 6 cards (Today widget · Quick To-Do · Calendar · On This Day · Link up · Recent notes). Every other card is waiting in Edit ▸ Hidden cards — pull out whichever you like.
• Want the dashboard the moment ObsiKO starts? Pick Dashboard in Settings ▸ Basics ▸ Startup screen. → Settings & Themes

Period filter 🗓️

• Period-based cards (work & focus time, new notes) have their own 7 days · 30 days · 3 months · 1 year buttons on the right side of the card title row.
• Each card remembers its own choice, saved for next time.

Today widget 🌤️

The full-width card at the top (by default). Everything you need to start the day, in one place.

• Left side: today's date with the year ("Friday, July 10, 2026"), a big current time (updates every minute), and the current weather.
• Hourly weather card: the next 6 hours of forecast in 24-hour time (13:00, 24:00), all in one card. When the window narrows, the whole card scales down instead of wrapping.
• Calendar on the right: this month's calendar sits beside it. Sundays are red, Saturdays are blue, days with events get a dot (•), and clicking a day pops up that day's events and work log! → Calendar
• On desktop the calendar stays beside the clock and just shrinks as the window narrows; on iPhone it drops below.
• Weather uses the city you pick in Settings ▸ Basics ▸ Weather location. It never asks for location permission — it starts from your device time zone (e.g. Asia/Seoul → Seoul) and you can type any city name and choose from the matches. No API key needed (Open-Meteo), and it's the same source as the {{weather}} template. → Advanced Markdown
• Press ＋ at the card's top right and an event composer pops up right there — fill in time, date, recurrence, priority, and the event is saved to today's note (created for you if it doesn't exist). It shows up on the dashboard moments later!

Weekly schedule 📅

A full-width card showing a week of events as a vertical list of days.

• The header shows a week label like "Week 2 of July" with ‹ › buttons to move between weeks. While viewing another week, a This week button appears to the left of the label to jump back.
• Each day row shows up to 3 event previews and that day's weather with high/low temps at the right end. Saturdays are blue, Sundays are red.
• Click a day and its row expands downward into an hourly timeline (08:00–20:00 by default, auto-extended to fit your events).
• Duration blocks: an event like 13:00-16:00 is drawn as a block spanning that whole range. Events without an end time get a 1-hour block, and overlapping events split into columns side by side, like a calendar app.
• Time and title are centered in the block, and thin blocks (like a 30-minute event) show the title inline next to the time so you can always tell what it is.
• Clicking a block or chip jumps straight to that line in the note where the event is written.
• The ＋ in the title row adds an event from here too (saved to today's note).

Calendar 🗓️

A full-width card you can view five ways — month, week, day, year, and timeline. It's the same calendar as the one you embed in a note (the ```calendar block in Calendar), so it looks and works exactly the same.

• Pick Month / Week / Day / Year / Timeline in the card's header row. Your choice is remembered (the date you were on resets to today).
• Use ‹ › to move back and forth (Today jumps back) — it steps by a month, a week, or a day to match the view.
• Month: events live right inside the day cells (timed as ● 10:30 Title; all-day and multi-day ones as a continuous bar across the days). When a week can't fit everything, you'll see "+N more".
• Year: all twelve months at a glance, busier days shaded darker. Click a month to jump to its month view. The months lay themselves out to fit the space — 2 across on a phone, 4 on a wide screen — so the day numbers always stay legible.
• Timeline: projects and the tasks inside their notes, one bar per row — projects fold and unfold.
• Click a day cell for a popup with that day's full list, where you can tick items done right away.
• ＋ in the title row adds an event — in Day view it lands on the day you're looking at (today in the other views).
• Events from the same note, or the same subscribed calendar, share the same color, so sources are easy to tell apart.

Google & Apple Calendar events too 🌐

• External calendars subscribed in Calendar (ICS) also appear across the dashboard — the calendar widget, weekly schedule, Calendar card, and today's tasks.
• National public holidays also show by default (Settings → Calendar → 'Public holidays', defaulting to the app-language country). → Calendar
• Subscribed events are read-only with a 📅 icon — no checkbox, no note to open, and past ones never count as "overdue".

Cards that help your day 🤖

• ⚡ Quick To-Do: jot down and tick off to-dos right on the dashboard, without opening a note (type and press Enter). Finished items go to the collapsible To-do log via 📥 Archive, where you can pull them back out with ↩ Restore or clear them with ✕. (It's a lightweight scratchpad saved on this device only.)
• ✅ Habit Tracker: add habits like "drink 2L of water" or "read 30 minutes" and check them off day by day! A 🔥 streak builds up, and each habit can carry a target number of days (1–366 — with 7 · 14 · 21 · 30 · 66 · 100-day presets) to track progress against. (Habit records are saved in your vault (.obsiko/habits.json) — they carry over to a new device and to your other devices that sync the vault. Habits that used to live only on this device move into the vault only when you tap Move to this vault on the card.)
• ⏳ Countdown: enter a name and a date and it counts the days — D-12 · D-DAY · D+3. Public holidays such as Lunar New Year are suggested as chips (with that year's exact date). Past dates stay for 7 days, then fold under past. Countdowns are saved in your vault too (.obsiko/ddays.json).
• 📮 To my future self: write a letter to yourself a year from now — Write a letter (opens by default on December 31 next year; pick another day with Change). While you write, nothing is hidden; once you leave the note and open it again, a cover hides it until the day. When the day comes, the card shows it under ready to open, and phones get a notification at 9 a.m. that day. The seal is a promise not to peek — the file is a plain note (an open_on: date property), so other apps can still show it, and the cover's Open anyway opens it at any time. The title isn't hidden. Global search, link previews, the reference view and backlinks also show a single sealed line instead of the letter's text until the day.
• 💰 This Month (ledger): this month's expenses · income · balance in big numbers, with bars showing your top 5 categories below. If there are no transactions this month, it quietly hides itself. → Ledger
• Today's tasks: overdue, today, and the next 7 days in one place. Check tasks off right there — completion rings and other cards update instantly! Task states are shown just like the Calendar panel — in progress is a half-filled box, cancelled is an X box with a strikethrough (today's cancelled items are shown too).
• Recent notes: jump right back into notes you opened recently.
• 🕰️ On This Day: brings back the daily notes from a week, a month, and a year ago today, plus notes you created on this date before. Tap one to open it. The more daily notes you keep, the richer it gets.
• 🕸️ Link up: pairs new notes that aren't connected to anything yet with existing notes worth linking, with reason chips. Nothing links until you press ✓ Link (the first mention of that note's name in the text becomes a [[link]]); ✕ hides the suggestion. Undo takes back the link you just made. → Backlinks & Outline
• AI briefing: AI summarizes today's schedule and tasks. Press Brief me on today to make that day's briefing. You need an API key (Settings) or the AI agent in the desktop app. → AI Agent
• Topic clusters 🧩: shows what thematic clumps your vault is made of, grouped automatically along your link-and-tag network (zero AI calls — it just reads your vault). Hit [AI summary] on a cluster and it walks you through scope & cost check → summarize → preview → save as note, confirming at every step — it never spends tokens or saves anything behind your back. Saved summaries land in _ObsiKO/summaries/ as new notes with links back to their source notes.
• Query boards: pin your own task boards using tasks queries (or Show a Base). The boards live in one bundled card, so you can move them together in edit mode. → Bases (Data Tables)

Cards for fun and inspiration ✨

The hidden-cards tray holds these too. Pull out only the ones you like!

• Four AI cards: today's writing prompts (click one to start a new note!) · yesterday's retrospective · a blast-from-the-past note · expression of the day. Press the card's button and that day's card is made (needs an API key or the desktop app's AI), and Regenerate draws a fresh one.
• 🔮 Today's tarot — works without AI: draw from all 78 cards (22 Major + 56 Minor Arcana); the card flips over and you instantly get keywords, a writing prompt, something to try today and a lucky motif. Reversed cards stand upside down and read differently. All 78 are gold-framed cards with storybook illustrations.
  • Pick [One card | Story spread] in the card header. The story spread deals three cards — character, conflict, ending — as a prompt for a short story.
  • Go deeper with AI (with an API key or the desktop app's AI) gives a longer reading, and Save as note turns the cards and reading into a new note you can keep writing in.
  • It's a playful writing prompt, not fortune-telling — it never decides anything for you. Your draw stays for the day; tomorrow you draw fresh (or press [Draw again] any time).
• Today's Wiki · Word · SCP: a random Wikipedia article (big photo!), a word of the day from Wiktionary (pick the language), and a random SCP Foundation entry.
  • In Korean it's the 'Word time machine' ⏳: set it to Korean and the word of the day becomes the Word time machine, which shows how a word used to be written. You get the word, a one-line meaning, How it was written through the centuries and a short note, followed by [Look up in dictionary] and [Another word]. In other languages it's still Wiktionary's word of the day.
• Space cards: My Galaxy (a snapshot of your graph view — click to enter the real one) · constellation streak (fill 7 days and a new constellation forms each time!) · NASA's Astronomy Picture of the Day · a 🚀 rocket launch the moment you hit 100% of a focus goal.
• Mini games: Korean Wordle · tic-tac-toe · typing practice (choose which notes to quote) · reaction speed · crossword (difficulty levels + AI-generated puzzles) · Nonogram (5×5 · 10×10 · 15×15 — one pixel picture a day that fills in color when solved and lands in your 🗂️ collection · Another picture · AI-drawn pictures) · Mini sudoku (4×4 · 6×6, one a day + new puzzles) · Sentence scramble (a sentence from your notes, cut up and shuffled) · Color Fill (pick a color and paint whole patches until the board is one color — Easy · Normal, one a day + new puzzles)!
  • Wordle and the crossword now connect to the Korean dictionary 📕: type a word into Korean Wordle that isn't in the dictionary and it tells you '“…” isn’t in the dictionary' without using up a try. When the game ends, the answer gets a one-line meaning and a [Look up] button. Korean crossword clues come from Standard Korean Dictionary definitions, and once you've solved it you can tap the word chips to see them in the dictionary.
• Nonogram tip: drag (or swipe) across cells to fill or clear several at once — whatever the first cell starts carries across the cells you pass (an ✕ survives an erase drag). Empty cells are tinted every other one, like a chessboard, so rows and columns are easier to count (the finished picture stays clean). Pick the size from the menu on the card (15×15 makes the card full-width). Another picture hands you one you have not collected yet, and Get an AI picture asks the AI for a fresh drawing (API key needed — only logically solvable pictures are accepted). Finished pictures live in the 🗂️ Collection, where you can also remove one you do not like.
• Color Fill tips: pick a color below, then tap a cell — the whole connected patch of that color turns at once. Make the whole board one color to finish. Each puzzle has a target (the app finds the shortest solution itself): finish within it for ★3, one over for ★2. You can always keep painting past it, and Undo as often as you like. The trick is asking "which patch should I paint first so that separated patches of the same color join up?" Each color also carries a dot, ring or diamond mark, so you can play even if colors are hard to tell apart.
• Sentence scramble doubles as language practice — in the title bar pick a note or folder where you keep foreign-language sentences (use "Choose another note…" if it isn't listed) and only those sentences are used. After solving, 🔊 Listen reads it with the device voice and Open note takes you back to the source. Stuck? 💡 Hint places the next piece.
• Typing practice and the crossword take the full width so the sentence and grid stay large. Want them narrower? Edit ▸ ⤡ folds them to half.

A little celebration 🎉

When you finish something, a completion stamp lands on the card. Bigger wins add a small burst of confetti.

Wordle comes once a day; tic-tac-toe you can win twenty times in a minute. Giving both the same fanfare would cheapen both. Habits aren't a game, so a single check doesn't set off confetti — and when a streak breaks, nothing scolds you.

If your device has reduced motion turned on, you get the stamp and the words without the confetti. Nothing ever makes a sound.

Arrange cards your way ✋

• Press Edit at the top right and every card gets a dashed outline and a ⊖ button.
• Drag a card and the others glide smoothly out of the way (just like the iPhone home screen!).
• When dragging is awkward, the ∧ ∨ buttons next to ⊖ move a card one slot at a time — handy on narrow screens and on touch. The buttons dim on the first and last card.
• Once you start editing, a small bar floats at the bottom — it stays in the same spot no matter how far you scroll, so you never have to go back up to finish. Hidden cards · ＋ Embed group · ⋯ · Done all live there (Export layout and Import layout are tucked inside ⋯).
• A layout you've lovingly arranged can travel: Export layout packs it into a file (.oset) to share across devices or with someone else. Import layout applies a received file's card setup (which cards, their order, folded state) as is — it only changes the card arrangement and never touches your notes.
• Cards hidden with ⊖ wait behind that bar's 'Hidden cards' button — tap it to unfold the list and restore any card with ＋. However many there are, they're sorted into Plans & tasks · Notes & links · Stats · Projects & life · AI · Daily picks · Mini games so you can find one fast.
• Full-width cards can also be folded to half width with the ⤡ button in edit mode (⤢ unfolds).
• New cards from updates start hidden, so your dashboard never gets crowded on its own. A card joins your dashboard the moment you pull it from the tray.
• Layout and hidden cards are saved automatically.

Pin notes as cards — embed groups 📌

You can pin notes you check often onto the dashboard as cards.

• Press ＋ Embed group in the edit bar to create a new group card. Use the ＋ (Add embed) in the group's header to pick a note (search by name, or pick from the recently edited list).
• The ▭ / ▤ button in the header switches the view — Show content (the note body, just as it looks in the editor) or Card view (name only; tap to open the note).
• Every card has ⤢ (Stretch across the row) · ✎ (swap for another note) · ✕ (remove the card) buttons.
• ✎ next to the group title renames it, and when you have more than one group, ✕ in the header deletes a group. Your note files are never deleted — only the cards leave the dashboard.

What does it show? 👀

• Totals at a glance: notes, words, characters, links, tags, folders — numbers count up, and the note count gets a trend sparkline.
• Writing momentum: today's and last 7 days' work time with a change vs the previous week (▲▼%), plus characters added in 7 days.
• Activity heatmap: see when you wrote the most, like a grass field! Click a cell to see the documents you created/edited that day. 🌱
• Work & focus time: bars by day/week/month following the period filter, with Focus Timer records alongside.
• By weekday · by hour: which day and what time you focus best!
• New notes · characters added: notes created within the period and characters added per day.
• Tags · file types · folders: where your notes cluster, as bars.
• Hub notes · orphan notes: the central notes where links gather, and notes connected to nothing. → Backlinks & Outline
• Longest notes · dormant notes: your magnum opus (?) and notes you haven't touched in ages.
• Vault growth: how your note count has grown, as a cumulative area chart.
• Hover a chart for a tooltip; click a bar for a drill-down popup listing that day's/month's documents.

How are my tasks going? ✅

• Task status card: total · done · cancelled · in progress · remaining, plus overdue · due today · recurring counts. Click a number to expand the list. → Calendar
• Task completion: two rings, Daily and Weekly, side by side!
  • Daily = of the tasks dated today (scheduled/due/start), how many are done. Tasks with no date that you checked off (✅) today count too.
  • Weekly = the same for this week (using your week-start-day setting). The ring also shows done/total counts.
  • When the card narrows, the rings never wrap — they just shrink.

PARA & reading cards 🗄️📖

These cards come into their own when you organize notes with PARA or keep a reading log.

• 🎯 Focus Zone: projects with a looming deadline, complete with a D-day · progress bar · owning area (hidden by default — pull it out from Edit ▸ Hidden cards).
• 🌱 Area Health: a traffic light per area — 🟢 active / 🟡 stalled / 🔴 no projects — so you know where to put your attention!
• 🗄️ Archive Candidates: quietly nudges you to tidy up projects long past their deadline and resources left idle for ages (hidden by default).
• 📖 Currently Reading: the books you're reading, in most-recent order (cover · progress bar · change status). More details → Library & Reading Log

Three stats cards, all in numbers (hidden by default)

Pull any of these out of the hidden cards tray and they attach as full-width cards.

• 📊 Project Stats: project count · in progress · done · average progress · due soon · overdue · total items / completed items. → Project View
• 🗂️ PARA Stats: how many projects · areas · resources · archived you have, plus in-progress and overdue counts, all in one row. → Structuring Knowledge

Review & rediscovery cards 🎴🔁

• 🎴 Review: tells you how many review cards are due today, and Start review takes you straight there.
• 🔁 Today's rediscovery: suggests 5 buried notes, each with the reason it was picked. Dealt with it? Hit ✓. (Nothing gets moved or deleted on its own — relax!)

How close am I to my goals? 🎯

• Your focus time goals (daily·weekly·monthly·yearly) from Focus Timer appear as big rings stretched across the full width. A ring turns green at 100%! 💚

Little details 💡

• Every chart is hand-drawn SVG with no external libraries — light, and it matches your theme colors.
• The vault is scanned once when the panel opens; press the refresh button or change vaults to recalculate.
• If motion bothers you, turn on your system's Reduce Motion setting — the animations calm down.
• A web novel's dashboard (episodes, published, buffer and next release counts plus serial progress) isn't this screen — it's the project view inside the work's folder. → Project View
