12-3 Ledger 💰

How much did I spend today…? Just paste in a card payment text and it sorts itself out, with budgets, calendar badges, and even AI check-ups to keep you covered — meet the Ledger! It's a special flavor of Bases (→ Bases (Data Tables)), so each entry is just stored as a regular note.

Creating a ledger 🏦

• Pick 'Ledger' from the sidebar's ＋ New menu, or run 'Create ledger (.base)' from the command palette. (Installing it from → Knowledge Packs gives you the same thing 📦)
• Inside a Ledger folder, a ledger .base file is created along with preset table · summary · category views. New entries pile up neatly by month under 내역/YYYY-MM/ (an "entries" subfolder) in that folder.
• Each entry is just a frontmatter note (expense/income · date · amount · merchant · category · payment method). So it opens fine in Obsidian too, and the ledger .base is simply a table + summary that gathers those notes.

Adding entries ➕

Press the ➕ Add entry button at the top of the summary panel (or 'Add ledger entry' from the command palette) and an input window opens right away — fill in Expense/Income · Date · Amount · Merchant · Category · Payment method · Memo and save! - Category autocomplete 🏷️: as you type in the category field, it suggests categories you've used before plus default ones (food, transport, housing, living, culture, medical, education, shopping, salary, allowance…). One tap and you're done! - Fill from a card text 💳: if you have a card payment text copied when you open Add entry, it fills in the amount, merchant, date, and payment method for you — no extra step in between! It recognizes a wide range of senders, from card issuers (Shinhan, Samsung, Hyundai, KB, Lotte, Woori, Hana, NH, Citi, IBK…) to simple-pay services (KakaoPay, NaverPay, PAYCO), Toss, K-bank, and regional banks. (If it doesn't look like a card text, it's left as a normal paste. Same flow on iPhone, Android, and desktop.)

Snap a receipt for auto-entry 📷

• Right-click a receipt image in the file tree → 'Receipt → Ledger' (or 'Add ledger entry from receipt' in the command palette), and AI reads the receipt to fill in the date, merchant, amount, category, and even the line items. Just confirm and save! (Requires an AI key or desktop login → AI Agent)

See it all at a glance 📊

Open the ledger .base and a summary panel appears above the table — most things get handled right here. - Period views (Day · Week · Month · Year): pick a unit with the toggle at the top and flip through with ‹ Previous · Next › · Today. This period's income · expense · balance at a glance! - Sub-bars & drill-down 🔎: Month view shows per-day bars, Year view per-month, Week view per-weekday. Tap a bar to dive into that sub-period. Day view lists that day's entries. - Category ratio bars: shows how much went where, by category, as bars. - Budget & per-category budgets 💰(Month view): enter this month's spending goal and you'll see the remaining budget and a progress bar. You can set budgets per category, too. (Budgets are managed in Month view.) - AI check-up 🩺: press the button and AI looks over your spending for the period and offers a word of advice (key required). - The 'Entries' (table) view gets the same period filter bar, showing only the entries for the period you're viewing.

Together with the calendar 📅

• Open the Calendar and each date cell shows a net-amount badge for that day — blue for income, red for expense. Big amounts are shown compactly, like 1.2M.
• Pick a date to see that day's entry summary right away.
• If the badges feel busy, turn them off with Settings → Calendar → 'Ledger amount badges'. → Calendar

At a glance on the dashboard 📊

• The Dashboard carries a 💰 This Month card by default — this month's expenses · income · balance plus bars for your top 5 categories, checkable straight from the dashboard! (If there are no transactions this month, it quietly hides itself.)

Good to know! 💡

• The ledger is built on top of Bases, so it inherits all of Bases' tricks — tables, kanban, charts → Bases (Data Tables)
• Since each entry is an ordinary note, you can open and edit it directly later, or weave it in with search and backlinks. Your data stays right inside your vault — reassuring, isn't it? 😊
