05 View Modes & Korean Input
The thing ObsiKO is proudest of! "Looks beautiful the instant you write it, and Korean input never, ever breaks."

What is hybrid editing? 🤔
- The line your cursor is sitting on honestly shows you the raw Markdown symbols, while any line your cursor has left magically shows only the pretty formatting.
- No more split-screen preview panes cutting your view in half — write and view at the same time, on one screen.
Three view modes, entirely your choice (the View menu 👁)
Press the View button (👁) at the top right of the tab bar and a menu opens. Pick any of the three modes from there!
- Source view (⌘⇧O): shows every single Markdown symbol, without missing a thing. (Plain-text vibes!)
- Reading mode (⌘⇧V): hides symbols even on the line your cursor is on, so you can read comfortably like a finished book.
- Zen (focus) mode (⌘⇧Z): sidebar, toolbar — all distractions step aside! Dive deep into nothing but your writing. (Done writing? Hit the toggle button at the top-right any time to come back!) Even the beautiful cosmic Graph View can be viewed distraction-free in Zen mode!
- 💡 Slide, Book, Web Novel, Messenger, and Visual Novel views live in the very same menu. They only slip into view when the document's frontmatter carries the matching incantation (
marp: true,view: book, and so on). → 18 Making Presentations · 18-1 E-book & Web Novel Viewer · 18-3 Messenger & Visual Novel Views
Ever gotten mad while typing Korean? ObsiKO's got your back! 🛡️
- No matter how fast your fingers fly, no matter how much you mix in autocomplete and shortcuts — a Korean character being composed will never get mangled, an initial consonant will never split off, and a character will never get typed twice. (Though if you ever do spot something, please report it right away!)
- That moment where you finish a title, hit Enter excitedly to move to the body, and a half-typed character comes along for the ride wrongly? ObsiKO absolutely refuses to allow that. Completely blocked!
- This flawless Korean typing experience is, in fact, the single biggest reason ObsiKO exists! 💪
We didn't miss these little details either ✨
- Hit Enter in a list or blockquote and the next line continues automatically, right? Your precious Korean composition is kept safe through all of that too.
- Clicking a link (
[[ ]]) or a#tagis smart too. Click the very link your cursor is sitting inside and only the cursor moves, carefully, so you don't make a typo — but click any other link, even on the same line, and you fly straight to that document. (And ⌘(Ctrl)+click jumps even from the link you're inside!) Pretty sharp, right? → Wiki Links & Tags
